I have been using Windows 7 Since November, and really like it a lot. However, that being said, I have been experiencing issues with IE 8 and Firefox 3.5.6 loosing connection to the internet (I think).
It happens usually after my computer has been on for a couple of hours or more, both Firefox and IE stop showing websites. I know that I still have internet because all other means of connecting to the internet FTP, Updates, LogMeIn(Remote Desktop Application), etc... all work fine and connect to the internet as needed, just the browsers loose connection.
When I loose the "connection" in Firefox nothing happens, no error messages or anything, it just quickly flashes messages in the status bar which I cannot read, but I assume it's the normal connection messages, and the page load progress bar in both the current tab and in the status bar just quickly zooms to 100% and disappears.
For Firefox, after this happens, when I try to load a page it doesn't reload the page at all, so if i had just opened the browser to it's default blank page and tried to visit a site, it would stay blank. not tell me that there was a problem reaching the site.
In IE it tells me that there is a connection problem and gives me possible causes and suggests I use the network troubleshooter, which I run and it detects nothing wrong with my network.
This happens at least twice a day, and is really frustrating because the only way I seem to be able to get it back is to reboot my machine, then it works fine. It happened to me just 20 mins ago while I was simply browsing the internet with no other applications open. I don't know why this would be happening. Oh, and I almost forgot, my network card is Marvell Yukon 88E8001 ethernet, and I have updated it's driver
direct from the manufacturer's website. Also tried re-installing Firefox which didn't change anything...
Anyone have any ideas why this might be happening or how to fix it? I'm running Windows 7 Ultimate 32 bit.
Thanks for any and all help,
