Let me ask the question another way. Bring up WLM. Go to tools ...Go to accounts...Who is the email provider that is listed? There has to be an email provider listed. Yahoo, MSN, Hughes or another?

Ah! Now I understand! My Default account is Hughes. And it is the only one in the "Tools" > Accounts> The other accounts I mentioned require me to go to the webpages involved. I have not involved those accounts in win live mail.

    Thanks:)

Its taking time, but we will solve this. If I have to leave soon, but just post your questions. I will give them first priority, when I return, unless someone else, begins to help.

Your email provider is Hughes. Did you use Hughes, before you had WLM? If yes was the service acceptable. If no, the problem could be with them.

Hughes is my provider for all three of my OS' on this machine and I have no problems with the e-mail clients ( win mail and outlook express) on the other two os' which are win vista home premium and win xp pro.

See my spec's if you haven't already.

I thank you for all your help and if you have other responsibilities now , I understand , I am also trying to deal with this and cook supper for me and my wife!

    Thanks Richard

Can be the firewall or A/V. Try to send and receive mail with this software off.

So the default account is Hughes - if it comes in late your antivirus may be scanning the email and doing a poor job - what antivirus is it and how are the email settings - if any - configured?

The firewall I'm using in win 7 is the windows default firewall. I am using AVG 9.0 fully licensed version and fully updated and run my security apps every two or three days. Avg 9.0 is alleged to be compatible with win 7.

Here is a screen shot of my desktop so you can see my current security apps. I do regular updates and run these apps on a regular basis

Don't run Spybot and Spyware Doctor realtime at the same time - they will conflict.
