How do I transfer outlook 2007 files from xp to Win 7

I run Office 2007 on my XP Pro laptop. I have set up a new laptop with Win 7 and Office 2007. How do I transfer all of my Outlook files/settings/mail accounts/addresses/etc from the XP laptop to the Win 7 Laptop?

    Thanks
    Don

You dont even have to do that.....

I can back up all of your files and contacts, its built into your Outlook program but i can't save your Login information, do you still have that?

If he already has his mail in "files" on the computer import/export is just an extra step. Just locate the .pst files and copy them to the new PC then link to them in Outlook on the new PC.

The built-in Outlook import/export wizard can't copy the settings. The only way you MIGHT be able to is (on XP) export HKCU\software\microsoft\windows nt\windows messaging subsystem\profiles from the registry on the old computer and import it on the new one. You will likely have to remap your PST files but it will bring over your connection settings.

To get back the list of previous contacts you've mailed to, find a file with a .nk2 extension and copy it into the appropriate folder on the new machine (I know where it is on XP but not on 7)

Or use Windows Easy transfer, which will transfer all your Office App settings.
