Windows 7: Windows Live Mail - why so easy to delete accounts?

I'm hoping to find a simple solution to this... I'm confused at why it is so easy to delete entire accounts (and with them, all e-mails) in WLM, and what I can do about that.

Just testing the program today I had created a few folders in my account, then proceeded to delete them. By accident, I pressed the delete key when the account name was highlighted. All e-mails were gone - I was unable to find a backup of them anywhere on the disk.

Now I know that I can leave messages on my POP3 server, but I'm still stunned at how easy it is to delete whole accounts. Is there a way to "secure" an account (i.e. not letting me delete it by just pressing delete and enter?) In Outlook Express I needed to go into the accounts setting box to delete it. Here, I'm very scared that I will delete my account on a regular basis, just by going through and sorting e-mails.

Any suggestions?
