    Browsers Crashing

I am having a problem with most of my browsers most of the time. I generally use Firefox or Chrome, and sometimes Opera. All of them are crashing. Firefox and Chrome in particular are crashing constantly. Chrome is often crashing when I load it, and certainly within minutes of running it. Firefox crashes within 5-6 minutes, if not sooner. With Firefox, I might click on a page and the browser stalls and I get the spinning circle (hourglass). Then, it crashes. Opera is more stable, but that is crashing quite a bit as well.

The problem did not exist when I had Vista. I didn't notice it when I first installed Windows 7. However, since I updated the chipset drivers, it has been a problem (I don't think it is because of that installation, but it is coincidental in timing). I tried uninstalling Flash using Revo Uninstaller, but the problem persists.

    Scan for virus.

    Turn off your A/V

If none of those actions work, read this.

I really don't know, but to have common problems in several related programs seems to indicate a common cause. Only two things come to mind...malware (virus, trojan, etc.) or firewall. I would check in that order. Run multiple malware checks with Malwarebyte, SpyBot, etc., then see what happens using a different firewall. Perhaps before doing these, you should try doing a System Restore to just prior to installing the chipset drivers.

Thank you for your sage advice.

I've run full and quick scans with MBAM and Kaspersky. I also have Spybot running in the background. Everything comes up clean. I will see what happens when I shut down Kaspersky, which I am using as my firewall.

Is it possible that I have a problem because I have Avira Antivir and Kaspersky both running?

If you mean that you have Kaspersky AV, as well as Avira AV both running, that is a possibility. I don't know exactly what the issues might be, but I know that it is not a good idea to run multiple AVs.

You should not have 2 anti virus at the same time. That creates problems.

Sorry seeker, but guess you type faster than me.

I read through the link posted above, and it appears that Nvidia's Network Access Manager could be the culprit. I installed that when I updated my chipset drivers. The thing is that I deleted it with Revo Uninstaller some time ago when the problem first appeared. Is it possible that the program did not get deleted entirely or that it is causing additional issues? Is the only way to get past that to do a System Restore?

Revo is pretty good, I think that it is mostly gone. You may want to type the name in search and see if anything come up.

If the restore point that would be used is not too old, about a week or so, you could use that to be sure.

That's the problem, the restore point is probably a month or so old. I am hoping to avoid that, but if that is what it takes, so be it. I will search for nvLsp.dll when I get home, since that was the issue identified in the other situation, which seems similar to mine.
