Chrome update error message

I've noticed, via Google, other people are getting the following error message:

update server not available error 3

I've tried a few suggested fixes... anyone seen and resolved this issue?

I get that error as well but decided not to worry about it since the google updater automatically checks for updates and installs them silently anyway. I usually find my version is pretty uptodate when i check.

tks... I hope Google fixes the issue as modifying the registry is not ideal.

that is good to know... I have not used Chrome since 1.0... current release is much better.
