Eudora and Windows 7 Recently upgraded our PC to a new model running windows 7. I have been using an old Eudora for our mail for many years -version 7.1.0.9 I am having trouble using the ctrl key to select multiple addresses for mailings. If I click on one address and hold down the control key then click on a second its ok. BUT when i click on a third i lose the first selection. In other words I am only able to select two entries at a time. Eudora forum indicated this is a problem associated with Vista and Windows 7 since it works just fine on the old XP. Any known soluitons for this aside from adding addresses two at a time. | My System Specs |

Not knowing the client, I can only make guesses...such as using the Shift key, instead of Ctrl, but that would only work if the items selected were in a continuous sequence. However, on some software, after selecting multiple files via the Shift key, you can unselect individual files within the sequence with the Ctrl key without losing the rest of the selection. If this doesn't work in Eudora, then I would say that the fault is Eudora's, not Windows 7's.
Another possibility if the files not to select are only a couple, it might work if you select them first, then use invert selection...if the client has that option. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY OS W7x64 Pro, SuSe 12.1/** W7 x64 Pro, XP MCE CPU Phenom II 1090T w/Noctua NH-D14 /**4400+ X2 w/CM Hyper TX 3 Motherboard ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4/**A8N-SLI Memory 2 x 2GB Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA/**4x1GB Corsair VS Graphics Card EVGA GTX460 SC/**EVGA 8800GTS Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X/**Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays Acer X233H, Dell E152FPc /**LG M237-WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 & 1024x768/**1980x1080 Keyboard Logitech Media USB/**Saitek Eclipse Mouse Cordless Trackman Wheel/**Ditto PSU CM RS600 w/ APC BX1000G/**Antec 500 TP w/ APC BX1000 Case HAF922/**Antec 1040IIB Cooling 3x200mm, 1x140 and 1x120mm/**5x80mm fans Hard Drives WDC 2TB, 1.5TB, 1TB, 500GB,Seagate 500GB , Maxtor 80GB /**500GB Seagate & WDC 1TB Black Internet Speed 3.3Mbps Other Info SB 560 5.1 w/ Sennheiser RS140/**Creative T20 speakers, Dvico FusionHDTV7 Gold RT, Cisco E3000, HP 5510V AIO, Linksys E3000, Belkin F5U237 hub and **F5D8055 adapter

You might want to give their new version 8 beta a trial, its based on thunderbird apparently. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number self built OS Windows 7 Professional 64-bit CPU Intel E8400 3GHz Motherboard Intel DX48BT2 Memory Kingston PC3-10700H 4Gb Graphics Card XFX Radeon HD 5850 BlackEd. The new beta seems to have the same problem. I have tried doing the Shift control as the previous poster recomended. No. what I don't understand is why I had no problem with this with the old windows XP. The vista/Windows 7 does not want to allow me to use the control key to select more than two entries. I found this posting from Feb 2008 in the Windows Development Forum: I am facing some issue related to Multiple Selection in Tree-View control on Vista. I am doing the following steps:
Assume there are 3 tree-items.
(1) Select first tree-item.
(2) Press CTRL and select 2nd item. For doing this, I am calling TreeView_SelectItem(SecondItem). So, the FirstItem will be de-selected and SecondItem will be selected as expected. So, I need to set the style for FirstItem to TVIS_SELECTED by using TreeView_SetItemState(tvHwnd, FirstItem, TVIS_SELECTED, TVIS_SELECTED). till this point its fine.
(3) Now, I am trying to select ThirdItem (+CTRL). I am doing that by TreeView_SelectItem(ThirdItem). Now, the real problem comes here. On Window XP SecondItem will be de-selected and FirstItem remain selected. So, I manually set the state of SecondItem to TVIS_SELECTED, and hence all the 3 items become in selected state.
But in Vista, TreeView_SelectItem is deselecting all the previously selected items. Hence, even if I set state for SecondItem as TVIS_SELECTED, only last 2 items become in selected state. (remaining items are getting de-selected).
Hence, on VISTA multiple selection in Tree-View control is not at all getting done. On XP everythingn is working fine.
Can anyone please help me out in this scenario?
I believe this is what I am coming up against. Any ideas out there other than click two addresses at a time. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number Dell Studio OS unknown |

You could try this: Quote: To select multiple files or folders by using check boxes:
Open Folder Options by clicking the Start button , clicking Control Panel, clicking Appearance and Personalization, and then clicking Folder Options.
Click the View tab.
Select the Use check boxes to select items check box, and then click OK.
To clear a selection, click a blank area of the window. This is for Windows Explorer, but who knows, it might work. | My System Specs | | System Manufacturer/Model Number DIY OS W7x64 Pro, SuSe 12.1/** W7 x64 Pro, XP MCE CPU Phenom II 1090T w/Noctua NH-D14 /**4400+ X2 w/CM Hyper TX 3 Motherboard ASRock 890FX Deluxe 4/**A8N-SLI Memory 2 x 2GB Patriot PGS34g1600LLKA/**4x1GB Corsair VS Graphics Card EVGA GTX460 SC/**EVGA 8800GTS Sound Card Asus Xonar D2X/**Xonar D1 Monitor(s) Displays Acer X233H, Dell E152FPc /**LG M237-WD Screen Resolution 1920x1080 & 1024x768/**1980x1080 Keyboard Logitech Media USB/**Saitek Eclipse Mouse Cordless Trackman Wheel/**Ditto PSU CM RS600 w/ APC BX1000G/**Antec 500 TP w/ APC BX1000 Case HAF922/**Antec 1040IIB Cooling 3x200mm, 1x140 and 1x120mm/**5x80mm fans Hard Drives WDC 2TB, 1.5TB, 1TB, 500GB,Seagate 500GB , Maxtor 80GB /**500GB Seagate & WDC 1TB Black Internet Speed 3.3Mbps Other Info SB 560 5.1 w/ Sennheiser RS140/**Creative T20 speakers, Dvico FusionHDTV7 Gold RT, Cisco E3000, HP 5510V AIO, Linksys E3000, Belkin F5U237 hub and **F5D8055 adapter
