IE8 Not opening in Win7, FFox is fine though

    IE8 Not opening in Win7, FFox is fine though


    I have just setup a brand new Packard Bell OneTwo M D6020uk All-in-one PC for a friend of mine. It's running Win 7 64 bit Home Premium version.

    It worked fine from out of the box, Windows updates completed, web browsing all fine and still is in Firefox 3.6. The problem being is that the guy whose PC this is prefers IE8 and IE8 refuses to load. All we get is the circular icon on screen for about 3-5 seconds and nothing happens at all.

    We have also done a reset and full re install but no joy.

    Any one any ideas?

    Two ideas

    Type default in search. Make sue the IE is set as the default browser

    Type turn windows features on and off
    Go to the appropriate screen and make sure that IE is checked.

    Hope one idea works.
