To be fair, the title, although lacking a question mark, could be perceived to be a question, to which a lot of people would answer, myself included, neither.

@lsufrontier - I hope your questions were answered. Please keep us posted and let us know what you think of IE7Pro. If using with IE8, I recommend disabling IE7Pro's Crash Recovery. If not using IE8, you should be! It is more secure and stable than IE7. Once IE7Pro is installed and running, you should forget its there - until you misspell a word in a text box.

Well, this a technical forum where people come for facts and answers to their questions. Titles should probably be thought of as "Subjects" rather than a 4 word summary of the entire post. pillainp, in his "message" asked specific questions:
Hi can someone explain to me what IE7 Pro is? Is there also an IE8 Pro? Would the IE7 Pro be better than normal IE8?
He did not ask anything about alternatives to IE, or what anyone else used. And I note with question marks too - so "could be perceived", I think, does not apply!

Any one can tout their favorite browser, word processor, OS, CPU, or whatever. I've got no problem with that - if that is what the OP wants to know about.

And for the record - I have been honored by the site with their Seven Guru badge but I am not on staff and I don't speak for the site. Same with my MVP, as should be obvious with my endorsement of IE7Pro. I just "work" forums and would have skimmed past the alternative browser sentence and not paid attention if it had not ended with,
    Opera is much better.

Hey thanks very much for all the advice. I tried it out and didn't really find it necessary so i just unistalled it. I have also used Firefox and Chrome but ended up going back to using IE8. Firefox had too many add-ons and things to worry about and Chrome was very basic. IE8 may not be quite as fast but I wouldn't call it slow. There is hardly even a difference unless your looking for one. Thanks again

I use IE7 pro on all three of my computers with IE 8. The only thing I don't like is the mini download manager, which I have unchecked in IE7 pro preferences. :)

Yeah, I disabled that too. And mouse gestures. All I really use is spell checker, ad blocker (though I don't think it effective), and the form filler, and that's not all that consistent. The Accu-Weather plug in is nice.

@whs - I added that to ensure there was no "perception" I was speaking for the staff, or that I was supporting IE because I am an MS MVP - for neither is true. I should have said it that way.

Ad Blocker works for me. You could also try "Homer"

Homer, if you mean this Homer is cool - but it is not really an adblocker. I've done some beta testing for them. Homer tosses up an image of your choice when your browser attempts to display something from an entry in the hosts file.

That's the one. Some 'banner' ads are obnoxious and Homer blocks them.
