Cannot watch flash videos without CPU going to 100%

I wasn't sure where to ask this question but I will try here first. I have a Dell Inspiron laptop that is pretty old and built for XP. It has 2G of DDR and 64MB of ram on the Nvidia card. Processor is a 1.4

I cannot watch any flash videos without the CPU going to 100% and staying there the whole time that I am watching the video. I usually shut it off because the laptop gets extremely hot. Strange is that machine works fine and surfing is completely fine with no issues at all but this one. It is more than capable at surfing the web a watching a few streaming videos but with Flash it seems impossible. I have version 10 of Flash (release) and I have tried the beta. Using Win7 as well and had Vista on here before the upgrade. I have tried many fixes without resolution. I can watch a DVD with Windows Media Player and other players without issue but Flash... forget it.

Well I tested a Divx video and it is better than 100% but still pretty high. Strange I can't imagine this machine could not watch video when it was on XP and with much less RAM but I would have to test out that theory by reloading.'

sorry about that always try to give all the details. Firefox and Chromium. When I started testing with Divx streaming that CPU % is about 50 to 60% but the CPU fan on the laptop is constantly on until I stop watching the video. I am now questioning since a local copy of a video seems to work fine (DVD) I question if it is wireless related. I could load up the NIC card and try testing how it performs. Not sure if it will make a difference. My backup machine has a video card with 32MB of ram and I could load up Flash on that machine and see it performance.
