    Internet Explorer Zoom Settings

Now this is really doing my head in. The regular zoom setting for Internet explorer is 100%, but I find the screen’s way too small at those settings for me to read the text properly. The best setting for me is 200%, but the thing keeps on resetting itself back to 100% forcing me to keep on going back to put it back to 200% again. Is there any way to lock the zoom settings to what I want rather than having to keep on resetting it?

    Hello Welcome to SF,

To preserve your Zoom Level setting, use these steps:

    Internet Explorer Zoom Level

    • Open Internet Explorer
    • From the Tools menu, choose Internet Options
    • Select the Advanced tab
    • Under Accessibility, deselect the following option:

Reset Zoom level to 100% for new windows and tabs
    • Click OK
    Hope this helps,
    Captain

It was deselected when I looked. It seems to stick at the zoom I select, but then after a while swithes back to 100%.

    Hello guys and gals,

I too need help with this, and I too checked the settings and the "Zoom Box" was already deselected. I am aging and my eyesight isn't what it used to be, so I like my IE8 on 125%, but find that I have to change it every time. Isn't there some way to make it keep the zoom level that I've selected. Or is there some way to just set it to open at a certain percentage?

    Help! (For both of us!)

    Thanks and best regards,

    ~Antonio

It works in Vista but most times in Win 7 it does not.

I have read elsewhere this is by design but that's BS as it works at times.

I should be able to have each new Tab or Window open at 100% no matter what current Tab is set to.

If it was by design to not work the settings would not be there.

I await SP1 but don't hold much hope for any real Win 7 fixes that will be left to clever peeps on sites like these.

Thanks, pankcake89, but I am using IE8, and have no problem zooming in on a Website with the CTRL-+, but I don't want to do it every time I open IE. I would prefer that it save my settings, so I don't have to zoom every time I open a new page.

    Take care,

Hmm my issue is the opposite of your m8.

Same settings not working properly though that control it.

I want to be able to zoom to say 200% as a page may be small and open any New tab or New Window at 100% as Vista and Win 7 do when working after you set up to do so.

Issue is in Win 7 is most times it does not work so its random (I'm not alone in this if you Google the issue).

Random is a key word with Microsoft. They have created such a monstrous OS that it just cannot work well with every configuration. I do have the exact problem, as I have the reset zoom control UNchecked, but it still [randomly] changes back to 100%, while sometimes it decides to stay at 125%. Who knew?
