Firefox refuses to open new windows in a new tab

    Firefox refuses to open new windows in a new tab


    any ideas? "open new window in a new tab" is selected, it makes no difference they always open in new windows

    is this the same issue I have????? I have a firefox screen up, i want to load up another, and have a second icon on my quick launch bar, i click it, it just re-opens the current firefox screen, not a new one.... on firefox 3.6

    no.... the issue im having is that when it should open a new tab (like clicking links on here for instance) it opens a new window, i know what your problem is, ill PM you to not clutter up the thread

    This is going to sound really odd, but have you tried restarting your computer?

    If not, try it and see if the problem comes back.

    well ill be.... it fixed it, dont even know why that would effect it but cheers anyway, thats been annoying me all day :)

    Ive just "tried" to PM you, I cant find the link to PM!!!!

    On firefox 3.5, if i clicked the quick launch icon on the bottom, obviously firefox loads, click it again, firefox loads another screen and so on...but not on firefox 3.6, if its already up, and click it to load another, it just minimizes the current one, i have to right click and select firefox to get 2 icons loaded up..

    sorry i tried to PM you but you have PM disabled, basically your problem is that only one instance of FF can be ran at a time, to get around this just hit CTRL+N from the original window, its basically the same thing but counts as only one instance
