Hi is there a way to delete mail without it going into the deleted folder?
hello baccini, if you are using pst file you can delete the pst file direct from the folder you are save into.
so can you give more information you want to deleted..
its just that when I delete mail from the inbox I have to then delete it from the deleted folder is there a way to bypass the deleted folder and thanks for the quick reply.
What mail client are you using? In Outlook 2010 (Beta), which is what I am using, there is an option to automatically delete the contents of the Deleted Items folder when you exit the program. You just need to confirm either Yes or No when you do so.
I'm using windows live mail and there is an option to empty deleted folder on exit but what I'm looking for is a keyboard short cut
To delete a message immediately without the Recycle Bin or Deleted Items Folder in Windows Live Mail, Windows Mail, Outlook Express or Outlook:
- Hold down the Shift key while pressing Del or selecting Delete in the context menu.
- Click Yes.
Be careful with this shortcut, though, since your message won't be recoverable once deleted this way.
Ok, thanks for that just what I was looking for
looking for a windows live mail shortcut if anyone can help..
I know this is an old post but just in case anyone is still searching for an answer to this problem:
In Windows Live Mail client, even if you hold down the shift key while clicking delete in the context menu for a message or folder it will still go to the Deleted Items folder. However if you select the item, hold down the shift key and hit the delete key on your keyboard you will be asked if you want to permanently delete the file. Click Yes and it's gone for good.
