I Do see why people may want Vista but from my expirence I haven't had much luck and some people are also having problems. from what I have dealt with Some people have ran out and bought windows Vista without seeing wheather their computers can run it. I have seen some under spec computers running it and have old hardware. this is proberly whats caused some of the problems.

From what I have seen Windows XP and Windows 7 are the best ones of all. Windows 7 has worked for me and not many problems. but my opinion.
-
That's why I went from Windows XP to 7 and missed
Vista. like other sensible people.
I'm sorry, but no. Sensible people knew how to use Vista and as such, didn't have any issues with it. Part of that sense was knowing not install it on outdated hardware and to not blame the OS for the failure of 3rd parties to support existing devices.
Granted, the OS wasn't perfect (none are, nor will ever be), but it was from being rubbish.
If it wasn't for Vista and 3rd parties who took a long time to catch up, Seven wouldn't be what it is today.
And if upgrades weren't required to move forward, we'd still be driving Model-T Fords and sending children to work in coal mines...

A lot of people did. I'm sure a lot had problems with XP at first to. Why are we arguing about Operating Systems exactly? I admit it was fun to read the pages in this thread (especially the first two) but geez. Windows XP is outdated, get over it.
If you want to keep using it then fine, just don't expect new toys for it.

As with ME and 2000 are we now saying Windows XP and Vista are outdated?

BTW those of us that were around for the first few years of XP will remember it got just as bad press as Vista and up until SP2 was widely regarded as a buggy unstable OS (like vista this was due to bad 3rd party driver support).
Oh, how times have changed.
As with ME and 2000 are we now saying Windows XP and Vista are outdated?
Yes!!

In my opinion, when a new version of something comes out. The prior version is outdated.
I'd say XP is definitely outdated. Vista, well thats more recent (much more)

OK! How many of us have had Problems with windows 7 so far? I have only had problems with audio but was fixed with the right drivers. and no problems since.

I've had no problems with 7 at all, but then again I haven't had any issues with any OS since the days of XP x64 (again lack of 3rd party driver support).
