    Which browser should I use?

In my START MENU, there are two entries for Internet Explorer. One says just Internet Explorer and the other says Internet Explorer (64-bit).

My Dell is a 64-bit -- should I be using that one rather than the "plain" IE???

    Thanks for your help.

Just use the plain IE, the 64bit version does not have flash which is needed by lots of websites.

Or if you want an alternative, there are many free browsers out there that are very good.

    A few examples:

    Mozilla Firefox
    Google Chrome
    Opera
    Apple Safari

Those are only some of the most popular. There are literally dozens out there. It all comes down to personal preference in the end. Happy browsing :)

Thanks to those who responded to my inquiry. I did do a search last evening and found where this had been asked about before. Thee was some interesting reading and said what you all mention above. Should have done that before I posted, but thanks so much anyway.

I tend to use the 64-bit version of IE8 for most sites. For those that do not work correctly, because they need Flash or some other add-in which isn't 64-bit compliant, then I switch to the 32-bit version for those sites only.

Thanks for your response Dwarf. I've been finding the 64 bit is the way to go. Rarely do I have to use the other.
