Windows 7: Lost emails

Hi



first time on here sorry if this has been asked before

i have just moved on to Windows 7 on a new Laptop. I carried out the easy transfer and all appeared to work until i opened Windows live mail none of me emails from Windows mail seem to have transfered i have tried importing them when i do i can see all my old email folders but they appear to be empty. thought i could go on my old PC and resend them all but Windows mail now will not open get an error message saying contacts failed to load. Wonderd if you had any ideas.

Are you sure you looked in the right spot for them? They probably won't be in your Inbox, but below it under a "Storage Folders" or something like that, expand that and drill down til you see them.

yeah i have drilled down the folders are there but they are empty. i have restarted my old laptop. Windows Mail would not open there was a message stating contacts could not be opened so mail could not open. Another thread said to up grade the windows mail on the old laptop to live mail which i did. Now live mail opens on the old laptop and i can see the emails i seem to have lost but i cannot open them or export them, When live mail starts on the old Lt a message comes up saying contacts failed to load. Windows live mail is incorrectley configured please re install. Then another message box tell me sorry something unexpectedd happened and WLM must close. what to do now i wonder

You better backup the folder WLM...before reinstall

You've got to unhidde files and folder from the control panel => option folder and import in a safe place the all lot WLM folder where your mails are.

WLM doesn't recognize .eml...only Windows Mail and Outlook does
