IE8 and Explorer are Crashing

    One short beep is good, it is not the computer. Try to see if it runs in safe mode.

    Also a suggestion to the first page on the Reg Cleaner, you should use CCleaner much safer.

    Removing the HP software did not solve the problem. But I am having trouble booting into safe mode (F8). Am I right in remembering that it is best not to force a "safe boot"?

    I was able to boot into safe mode. I can crash IE8 and Windows Explorer in safe mode.

    Stop Windows 7 Crashes

    Type device manager in search. Go to device manager. Look for any warnings of problems with drivers etc. Update the video cards.

    No driver errors - see attached. Sorry for the attachment in Word, but I have removed everything else from the computer.

    Take a look at my event viewer. There are several errors here...

    Based upon the event viewer, this is the cause of the problem and the cure. Link is from an earlier vista forum post.

    The brower used should not be of importance.

    I have turned on DEP and still have the same problem. It appeared to be better for a while, now it is back.
