Windows 7: help needed

Hi
my problem is this when i view an item in ebay and then click the back button it aways used to return to the item i was viewing
but now it goes to the top of the page and i have to scroll down to try and find the item i was originally viewing
this is driving me mad
I have even done a system restore to 4 months previous but the malfunction is still there
is it a virus
I have cleared my cache etc

I did try google chrome and it does not happen in this browser
is it something IE have done to try and get you to use google chrome?

First, follow this tutorial to disable IE8 in Windows 7.

Second, download a malware program such as Malwarebytes' Anti-Malware and clean your computer. You may want to download Ad-Aware as well and run that.

Third, Reinstall/Re-enable IE.

If you don't want to go through that process, just use tabs and open new windows in a new tab that way instead of hitting the back button you can just close the tab.
