Internet Explorer 8 and Windows 7 Pro

I have this problem. When I visit a site that requires to click on a OK or Cancel button, the buttons do not appear at all. When I used my laptop with Windows Xp Pro and visit the same site the buttons are there.
I have updated my drivers for my video card NVIDIA GeForce 9500GT and nothing got fixed.

Is it all sites with IE or one particular site? Any difference with another browser such as Firefox?

I will try Firefox instead, so far is only one site, Callaway Upro wher I can download golf courses. I did talked to their web support people and of course they blame Microsoft.
Thanks for your help.

Well I tried Firefox and it did not work either, strange that it works in any other computer with Windows Xp, the only thing I can think of is Windows 7 for whatever reason.

^I have a problem with one specific website when using FF (my deafult browser) and trying to click on a 'Send' button; so for that one website I simply switch to IE. Can't be anything at your end given that it's only one website so at least that is reassuring. Is Chrome worth a try?

Did you try running compatiblility mode? Do you have any real time anti spyware/virus programs running?

I am running Kaspersky Internet Security 9.0, maybe that is where the problem is, no clue how to jump on it and find out if Kaspersky is the cause.
Any ideas?

Go to Window button bottom left (start button), in "search programs..." type in msconfig <enter>. Once system config opens, click teh Services tab, then check the "Hide all Microsoft services" box. Disable anything suspect in the list. Click the "Startup" tab, uncheck anything suspect there. Reboot. Try again.

Kaspersky is causing the problem, I turn it off for 2 seconds, checked the site and the Ok and Cancel buttons are there, so the question is... what setting Kaspersky has to cause this stupid problem. I did go to Kaspersky Forum and I wasted my time, I always can use my laptop with WIndows XP Pro and get what I need, I thank everybody for the info, if any Kaspersky expert shows up over here maybe I will get a final answer, you guys are great.

Hello !!

Maybe just disable the add-ins for Kaspersky that might fix it !!
  1. Click Tools on the Internet Explorer toolbar, and then click Manage Add-ons.
  2. Look for Kaspersky add-ins and disable it
  3. Start, point to All Programs, point to Accessories, point to System Tools, and then click Internet Explorer (No Add-ons).
Add Java, Flash etc to Kaspersky's exclusion list that might stop scanning it.

Hope this helps,
Captain
