Chrome 5.0.375.29 is a beta version,
Here is the information that I gathered
Google Chrome Releases: Beta Channel Update

I am not sure, I don't use Chrome I would think you could go back to the stable version here Don't know why it updated you to a beta version. (You could talk to google about the issue)

    Hope this Helps..

go to options, under the hood and then uncheck use dns pre-fetching. it is suppose to help load pages faster, but doesnt seem to do that. anyways since doing so I have had no problems and no speed decrease.

I unticked that box and unfortunately still no pages loading.

Ah, managed to fix it. I had used a command line option of --single-process which I dont think works properly any more. I was trying to get chrome to reduce the number of processes it uses.

    Thanks guys for the suggestions.
