| | Suggested Sites No matter how often I say "No" to "Suggested sites" in IE 8 (Windows 7) it keeps coming back and hogging my taskbar. Is there a way I can shoot this thing so it stays dead?  |

The best thing to do would be to reset IE to default settings then try to turn off suggested sites might fix it. Tools | Internet Options | Advance | Reset Hope this helps, Captain |

| | Suggested sites Hi, Cap'n. Afraid your idea did not work. I don't want to uninstall/reinstall as this almost always adds problems further down the road. Do you know of anywhere else I can get advice, if you can't think of any other solution? Regards, Ed  |

| | Hi, Jacee. Done all that but it just keeps on coming back. I have just relaunched IE8 and the welcome dialogue box gives the option for suggested site. I've enabled 'No' so hopefully tht willdo it. I'll let you know. Best wishes, Ed |

| | A last note, everyone.... I eventually deleted the registry key, rebooted and when it was replaced (it was shorter) I disabled Suggested Sites again. That was over 24 hours ago and it has not come back. Maybe I've cracked it after all. Thanks for all the input. Ed  |

| | Thanks for the info. I did check with Bt (British Telecom), my ISP, and they make no alterations to a user's browser unless requested, such as their Toolbar and Favourites bar - neither of which I use. |
