    Opera - Problems with flash

Hi there. Ever since I updated my flash I can't watch youtube videos or for that matter ANY flash content on Opera at all. I'm on 10.53 and on Windows 7 64-bit. Interesting thing is that I can fully view flash content on any other browser on my PC. On my dad's laptop (XP SP3 32-bit) Opera 10.53 has absolutely NO PROBLEMS with flash. I'm guessing 64-bit + New Flash + Opera = Fail... Again I'm pointing out - my dad is on a 32-bit OS and has NO Opera flash problems... Any suggestions?

Try deleting flash from your computer and install the version on the official Adobe site. You might also want to uninstall Opera.

Or try the newest Opera build @ Opera Desktop Team - Desktop Team

I'm now running Opera 10.5, but the problem presists. I tried upgrading my flash from the Adobe website several times, but it ain't workin'... I also have Flash CS4 BTW, so I shouldn't be having any problems at all...

Try deleting all Opera folders in Program files and also delete previous installs completely.

Then try the newest build. That should do it.. I think. :P

Try this, 1st, delete flash cookies (LSO's):

This site has an easy to follow video

    http://blogs.techrepublic.com.com/itdojo/?p=1424

Now here may be the key

1.) If your signed in to YouTube then sign out.

    2) Close all open YouTube tabs.

    3) Go to the Opera "Settings" menu item, and select "Preferences".

    4) On the "Preferences" window select the "Advanced" tab.

    5) Select the "Cookies" item and then click on "Manage Cookies".

    6) On the manage Cookies page do a search for "YouTube" and delete all the YouTube cookies.

    7) Click "Close" then click "Ok".

    8) Close Opera and then re-launch it.

    9) Go to YouTube and click on any video and it should work.

Let us know, sure somehow we can figure this out.

Hi Guy, sorry for my late response, but the solution shown above does not work. One day when I was jumbling around the Opera settings I found a checkmark called "enable plugins" that was unchecked. Ever since I checked it youtube was working again and I had no problems with Java either. Here's how to access this setting:
    1. Press Ctrl+F12 to access the Preferences.
    2. Go to the "Advanced" tab.
    3. On the left panel click "Content"
    4. The fourth checkmark will be "enable plugins".
    5. Tick it, hit OK and restart Opera.

    Edit:
I will still give rep to all repliers of the topic for trying to help. Thanks guys!

Good one dw96, as I said in my message to you. I should have KISS. Sometimes we skip to difficult problem fixes, when the answer is really quite easy. Glad you got it sorted. A Guy
