Windows 7: Windows Live e-mail vs Outlook e-mail

When my OS was XP, and I clicked a contact link on various web sites, I would get an Outlook e-mail screen where I would compose my e-mail and send it. That was good, because I had a history of that in my "Sent" folder.

Now, with Windows 7, I get Windows Live e-mail, even though I have Outlook installed. Is that a default of Windows 7, or is it what the web site is doing?

Can I look at Windows Live e-mails and see what I have sent?

Can I change a setting in Windows 7 so it will send an Outlook e-mail instead?

Control Panel > Programs > Default programs > Set associations

Look for the .msg extension and change the association to Microsoft Outlook

Alternatively, you can follow this..
Start - Run - Type, inetcpl.cpl
Click on Programs tab.
Click Set programs, under Internet programs.
Click Set your default programs.
To your left side, all applications installed will be displayed. Select MS Outlook.
Click Set this program as default.
