Youtube does not work on Firefox Help!

Using windows 7 64 bit at the moment. When i use internet explorer, i can view videos but i cannot with Mozilla Firefox. I prefer to use Firefox always but now i have to use IE if i want to watch something on youtube.

It mentions i need to download an adobe flash and i done this many times already. Is there a reason why youtube does not work for me in firefox?

If you have the NoScript addon, be sure you allow script. Sometimes, especially after upgrades, even if you had previously given FF permission to run scripts, it will reset itself and you will have to give it permission again (which is why you get the Flash notice)

NoScript does not discriminate.

NoScript

NoScript is yet another protection tool that blocks Javascripts and allows only from trusted sources. NoScript also blocks ActiveX, Flash and Shockwave elements on page with a solid red block with a play button in it. The Flash/Shockwave element can be viewed/played by clicking the play button. You can also teach NoScript not to block scripts from trustworthy sites by adding it to its whitelist or by clicking on the icon in the status-bar. NoScript blocks scripts from trusted sources like Google Analytics, so you need to add them to the whitelist manually.

I am not sure what you guys mean. I clicked on the download link for the flash and it also gave me option for macafee and then it went to my download manager and then it said it was completed.

First, in FF, go to <VIEW> and check <STATUS BAR> if it is not already checked. Then click on CTRL-SHIFT-A and a pane will open showing what, if any, addons you have installed. If NoScript is present as an addon, at the far right of the status bar you should see an white button with a blue "S"; the button my be clear, partially obscured, or have the universal "NO" symbol, overlaid on the "S."

Unless you tell it otherwise, NoScript blocks Flash, ActiveX, Macromedia, et al., scripts. To allow scripts for a particular URL, click on the "S" and a list of URLs will open allowing you to ALLOW those you trust or want.

If we assume that you DLed and installed the correct version of Flash, I cannot think of any other reason why you would get the error message instructing you to install Flash.
