Mail Client

I've used web based email for the last few years and now am looking for a mail client. I am currently looking at Thunderbird but wondered if there were other mail clients I should consider? I am rather paranoid about attached viruses/malware.

Thanks!

Personally, I am very happy with my Windows Live Mail, but I have seen many good reviews on Thunderbird at this forum. I did some research and it looks good.

I had been using Thunderbird for years and liked it. I have recently moved to Windows Live Mail and like it better. Other great Live Essentials free software at the MS site.

Guess I didn't really understand what Windows Live mail was exactly. I'll have to read into it more.

Thanks!
