Windows 7: 64bit Firefox and IE8

64bit Firefox and IE8

I was playing around with both FF and IE8 64bit and I didn't realize so many websites rely on Flash. It was like the internet was broken. I observed on my machine that the 64bit IE8 runs faster and smoother than the 64bit FF. But FF & IE8 32bit run about the same speed. I also noticed that the IE8/64 does load certain pages incredibly faster than FF32/64bit. The FF64 seems to run slower than my FF32. The beta 64 bit Flash plugin doesn't seem to address any of the functionality problems with flash based sites. In fact the plug didn't seem to install. What's anyone else's experience with these 64bit browsers?

Oops sorry this should be in the browser thread.

What 64 bit beta Flash? The only 64 bit Flash is an alpha release for Linux.

Still only 32 bit. This,

Adobe Labs - Flash Player 10 for 64-bit Linux

is still the only 64 bit version available.

I see, I made an assumptions since the link in the 64bit browser brought me to that page I thought it was a beta for a 64bit. I stand corrected.

Not a problem Adobe has only been promising a 64 bit version of Flash for the last 6 years or so (shortly after XP 64 bit came out). One of these days they may just get it out.
