Windows 7: need some help IE8 website viewing prob

Hi to you all I am hoping someone who might read this could suggest an optionMy frend has asked me to look at his sons "aspireone" notebook win 7 starter verhere is the probif you run ie8 and go to this site no prob BUT if you try and go to "Facebook" it goes to the site with the outside(can,t think how else to desc)in view but thats it no content can be viewed just the site and no text ?I have tried reset of ie8 incase someone had put parental security or access restrictions on its not the anti virus because his was rubbish so I put a new one on avg pro, which I am familiar with !also it will not go to "hotmail" or update win live messanger (which it requires to log on) just starts downloading and then said no can do ?I am begining to think it could be ie8 itself ? may be a reinstalI could save myself lotts of stress and just do a fresh install. but I don't won't to loose some of his sons stuff so I thought before I do anything rash I would check the site out as you have helped beforethanks Nick

Welcome, several things to try. Go to tools, internet options, advnced, reset.

does not work

Run disc clean, delete cookies, delete temporary files, by goint to tools, internet options, browsing history.

Download and try new browser. Chrome or FireFox would be nice choices.

Scan with anti virus and download and run malwarebytes. Download and Run ccleaner.

thanks for the reply have tried most of those things also checked Java found that curupted so downloaded and re installedthinking about it prob two dif probs1. displaying the txt on a site like facebook most of the otheres ive tried have been ok2. download and install (though I am sure the download is ok but the innstaller won't work) windows live messenger.I will try some of the others but would rather keep ie8 (ya I know sad) thanks will report back if I have any sucessI am leaning to reloading a new ie8 thoughonce again many thanks and if you think of anything else do tellNick

just another example just downloaded ccleaner and while I was at the web site thought I would subscribe to the news letter entered my email address scroll down and then had the enter the letters below you know what I mean HOWEVER I could'nt see what I was suposed to enter stange eh

Just so I truly understand the problem.

You are able to go to the site, but the view is not correct?

If that is the problem, can you right click on desktop, then go to resolution, and adjust it.
