    IE cookie save requests,but i removed IE8 ?

I have had a strange issue happen a few times and just recently, 6 or so minutes ago,it's happened again.

A site i visited ,imageshack, popped up a request to save a cookie, this is a typical IE cookie request and one which is easily identified as not belonging to firefox ,but the thing is ,i have uninstalled/removed the IE browser using the "turn windows features on or off" in windows 7 ultimate and i use firefox.

Even blocking all of IE (pre IE8 removal) with my comodo firewall didn't make any difference to these cookie requests popping up. So my remaining thought is,is IE really removed,or has the windows features just hidden access to the browser ?

As Richard says, IE is part of windows, you can turn it off, but it is integrated. Try turning it back on and configure to not accept cookies and not prompt.

    IN IE:

Tools> Internet Options> Privacy> Advanced (under Settings)> Click Override Automatic Cookie Handling> Tick option for block in both 1st party and 3rd party cookies. Again turn off IE. A Guy

Great. Should you ever decide to use IE, that won't be the optimal setting, but since you have no plans to use it, might as well shut it up
