Chrome won't let go of "default browser" title

So I was using Chrome for a few weeks as my default, but just missed my extensions on Firefox too much and wanted to go back. For some reason though, Firefox can't be made into my default browser, Chrome just won't let go. I've checked the "make sure FF is default on startup" box, hit the "make FF the default now" button, and it still won't switch. All the while, Chrome knows it's king of the hill.

Any ideas on how to swap it?

Uninstall Chrome and then reinstall if you still plan to use it.

I was hoping to avoid that, so all my settings would stay.

Chrome is pretty sparse in settings I'm sure you can reset them pretty quickly.
But you can try these http://techtites.com/2009/02/12/back...chrome-backup/

It's strange that Chrome is the only browser that does that...switching with any of the others is no problem whatsoever! I wonder if Google did that on purpose? If so, that's a real annoying minus on their part!!

The bookmarks and stuff were left intact (as far as I can tell), so I guess that was a good idea.

Thanks.
