Unidentified Error in Windows Live Mail

I have 23 messages in the Junk Mail folder in Windows Live Mail. When I try to delete one or more of them, I get an "Unidentified Error" dialog box. Has anyone else seen this, and can you help me get rid of those messages?

    Welcome

    Run your antivirus scan
    Download and run malwarbytes.

Whether you find a virus or not, reboot computer and try again to delete.

Thanks for your advice. I did as you suggested, and while a number of malware files were identified and deleted, it did not let me delete the files. I also tried to delete the junk mail folder, but it appears that the junk mail folder is wired in as an intrinsic part of Windows Live Mail.

    Any other thoughts?

What type of junk mail. Just regular spam or could it be something worse?

If when you reply, the answer is just regular spam, I think an email is blocking the WLM

I have run into this BUG in Windows Live mail 3-4 times. It can happen in any folder, ususaly I am hand delteing mail and then suddenly there is one that gives that error.

Generally the next day you I can delete the files. I have not tracked it down to requiring a system reboot or maybe just closing and reopening live mail fixes it... but it seems to be just a bug in the program.

Thanks to all for your responses. RichC46, your reference to Vista Mail Problems held the key. Specifically, with some folder other than the Junk Mail folder open, right-click on the Junk Mail Folder, and select "Empty Junk E-Mail Folder." Poof! Magic! All stuck message are gone!

    Thanks.
