Deleting e-mails in WLM vs Hotmail & Outlook Express

Is it correct that WLM e-mails have to be deleted on an individual basis as I can find no tick boxes to select the e-mail(s) to be deleted or a delete "All"tick box, which is a standard feature in Hotmail or Outlook Express.
In addition to WLM I am also running Hotmail and Shaw Webmail (OE) which have always provided the option to delete one or more e-mails with a single stroke of the delete key.I am running both of these services outside of WLM as it's message subject and toolbar information text is faint and difficult to read.

    Welcome

In WLM, click on the first one to be deleted, hold down control key, then click on the others to be deleted, then delete.

I'm using CTRL + mouse click to choose multiple messages in WLM, or SHIFT + click to choose all messages between two chosen messages.
