Live Mail --> Outlook 2010 question

I'm somewhat new to using Outlook for an IMAP account, as I've only really used it for POP3 and Exchange. So here goes.

For my personal e-mail, I use an IMAP account from my web-host. I have it synced up across three computers, all running Live Mail. When I say synced up, I mean IMAP mail works as it should, and I log in to each with a Live Account, which lets my calendar and contacts sync up too. Note, I am not using a Live e-mail address.

So, my question is this. I know I can setup Outlook 2010 to handle my IMAP e-mail, but does the connector work well to sync my calendar and contacts? Or would I be wasting my time, since I don't really use a Live e-mail account?

I hope this makes sense.
