    IE 8 won't open links?

Running Win7-64 and IE8-32. McAfee Internet Security. All up to date

After 5 months of IE8 working fine in the last 3 weeks IE8 acts weird when trying to open links.

On "some" pages links will open o.k. with a left click BUT even on the same page they will not open or will open with a "right" click BUT if you left click first you cannot use the right click but you have to go back a page then go back and right click.
Then on some other pages right or left clicks don't work.

I have reset, lowered security, removed ad-ons, un blocked pop-ups, scanned my system for viruses, used a scripting program all to no avail.

I think this is just some sucky thing with IE8 and has no real solution BUT on the chance that someone has a fix I'm posting.

Run your anti virus, make sure you have the most current virus defintions. If you did when you scanned previously, omit this step

    Download and run malwarebytes.

Download and try another like Chrome, for both testing and possible use.

    Having the same problems

I am having the same problems. For example, the links within this website some work and some don't. I also have been unable to use the printing functions within ebay and paypal that seem similar to the other navigation problems. I have tried to Java suggestions but nothing works. I know this is no help to you but hope there is someone out there who could help us both.

You could try an IE8 reset: Tools/Internet Options/Advanced/Reset. You could also try resetting all devices involved in providing internet access by powering down and rebooting. This includes your PC, router, and modem.
