I need a good mail program...

With XP I've been using Outlook Express and I seriously miss it. Now I have Live Mail but I'm not very happy with it. For several reasons I have to keep the old mails and it got very slow when I imported them.

I've tried Thunderbird but can't make it work with my accounts. I'm not stupid, but if a simple thing like setting up multiple accounts just doesn't work whatever I do, then this program is not for me.

I also tried Outlook 2003 but I don't like the fact that it puts all the mails into one big file. When the .pst file reached a size of 1GB it got very slow.

    Any other suggestions?

If you want to have a fun e-mail program here is one...
IncrediMail - Have Fun Sending Email!
    Otherwise go with Rich's suggestions.

    Thanks for that list :)

Incredimail does seem fun *g*. But it always puts in its signature, doesn't it? I need it for business correspondence too, so it should be able to look "serious".

Look at the list, make your choice and then post. We will give our opinion.

Use a different on for business and the other for having fun but it does has serious letter head you can download. IMO
I use to use it several years ago but grew out of it.

Try Outlook 2007 or 2010. I use Outlook 2007 and have a PST that is 1.45GB in size. There is no issue with performance, especially when searching through mail.

The first 3 choices, all from Microsoft, actually depend on your OS. That is, one is for XP and comes with it, the next is for Vista and comes with it, and the last (WLM) is for Windows 7 as a separate download with Windows Live Essentials.

I've been using TBird for several years now & haven't had any problems, but would like to try Outlook. I went to MS and all I could found was outlook comes with Office & I do not want Office. Can someone point me to a free Outlook.

    Mahalo!
