Oh I don't have an orange menu. Let me try a print-screen for ya.
Yeah, that is the traditional one.

This is someone else's screen, but it shows the new menu:

There doesn't seem to be the item for updates. Really odd.

It doesn't matter. I am so fed up with Firefox that I have switched to Opera 10.60. I used Firefox since version 1.0 and dealt with the memory leak problems. I found the issues in Firefox 3.6.6 to be the last straw.
Good for you. Oddly I have about 17 extensions and don't have FF problems. I am looking forward to FF 4.0.

I Give most browsers a chance, and I used Opera for years until FF came out. I recently made an effort to try Opera again, but was quite annoyed it didn't keep bookmark organization on import so I had to manually setup my bookmark bar again, also annoyed that it middle click on items there didn't work like other browsers (FF, chrome, IE) and the loss of Extensions was painful. Opera is just a bit of an odd duck in its behavior. The other browsers have more in common so I will stick with them. Opera out.

Next I tried Chrome for about a month solid. It imported all my bookmarks exactly and put them properly in the bookmark bar. Good thing because it's bookmark management sucks. I spent a lot of time trying to get my extensions equal to FF. Almost every extension I found is a pale shadow of the FF equivalent. So while most of them exist now, they are not as good. But I actually grew to like the space saving interface of Chromes so looking forward to FF 4.0 getting a similar interface.
    Why I ditched chrome:
Extensions are still weak compared to FF both in quantity and quality.
I prefer the way page search box stays open on FF when you click a link.
    FF does color management.
Lack of fine grained config. No about:config like FF.

Bottom line I gave the others a serious shot, I am back with FF and its better config control, better bookmark management, vastly better extension library and looking forward to FF 4.

Im using opera on this laptop atm, but for main pc I use either firefox or chrome. Id switch to opera if it had adblock.
It does: Fanboy's Adblock List for Opera

That blocks most things. If there is another then you can right click on it and select "Block Content".

That doesn't help me at all. After talking to others I believe that it's an issue with Firefox and websites that use heavy Javascript. I use MediaFire quite a bit to upload files and it was during this that Firefox kept having CPU spikes. The problem was when I was done uploading and closed the tab, the process was still pegged to the max. To me that is a flaw in the Firefox application.

Yeah, I can't imagine why the update item isn't on the new style bar...

I can't imagine why they would copy Opera's menu bar like that.

That menu tab is exactly like Opera's. Just making a point.
