    I cannot reponsd to email within a web page - I get a message saying client not properly installed- what do I need to do ?

    Install the client correctly. We need a lot more information. what client, what web page, what machine specs, what network setup, etc

    If you want to use an email program such as the one that came with XP or Vista, in Windows 7 you need to download and install the "Windows Live Mail" part of "Windows Live Essentials" available for download from Microsoft.

    If you want to use Hotmail (web-based) w/o bothering with an email program you may want to try this: Default mail client . It's meant for Vista but may work in 7 as well...let us know.

    thanks I have downloaded Windows live mail - but I am still getting the same response when I try to respond and send an email within a web page- is there anything special I need tod further
    I will try your suggestion and let you know the outcome

    If you're now using WLM DON'T use the other suggestion for Hotmail. Just configure the WLM options to make it the default email client.
