Need some expert help with my system. I keep my drivers up to date. Just had a BSOD crash while my wife was working on the computer. I haven't installed anything new except for Skyrim.

- OS: Windows 7 Ultimate x64
- the original installed OS on the system = N/A
- an OEM or full retail version = Full Retail Version

- What is the age of system (hardware)? = About a Year
- What is the age of OS installation = About a Year

These were Related to ctaud2k.sys Creative WDM Audio Device Driver from Creative Technology.

I would re-install newest available.

Yeah I had a feeling it was my audio drivers. Because no audio device was recognized after the BSOD. I restarted a few times and it eventually recognized the device again. Wierd. Were all the dumps the same audio driver issue?

First two (before SP-1) were Related to ha10kx2k.sys Creative EMU10KX HAL (WDM)

Second two (after sp-1) were indicated in previous post.

If there are no newer drivers you can use a legacy driver (but shouldnt) by installing it in compatibility mode
(compat mode= right click installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS)

ALSO ANOTHER DRIVER NEEDING UPDATING IS YOUR JUNIPER NETWORKS
Network Connect VPN software by Juniper Networks. iTS ANCIENT.

So basically I'm screwed with the creative audio drivers? It's an old sound card (Audigy 2 Platinum), but still works well. Maybe I'll ask for a new one for Christmas, just one of those upgrade I don't see any advantage in buying, not much has changed regarding audio.

That's funny about the Juniper VPN driver, my wife's a doctor and uses it to connect to patient files etc. Figures one that actually matters (HIPA etc) is the most out of date. Any idea where I could find updated drivers for the VPN? The ones I installed were from her employer, I doubt they updated them.

If that is the lateset creative driver it may help to re-install the driver in compatibility mode
(right click the installer>properties>compatibility>choose OS.)

Regarding your vpn, just google "juniper vpn drivers"

If there are non more recent re-install in cpmpat mode here as well

Installing via compatibility mode, what OS should I choose? My current installed OS (Windows 7 x64)?

Do I need to uninstall the driver first?

Use the OS the driver was sritten for. IE if it says for win XP sp3 use that.

No un-installation needed

What happens when you try? Is there an error message?
