    Can you explain the situation?

    BiosMajorRelease = 4
    BiosMinorRelease = 6
    BiosVendor = American Megatrends Inc.
    BiosVersion = F9
    BiosReleaseDate = 05/31/2012
    SystemManufacturer = Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.
    SystemProductName = To be filled by O.E.M.
    SystemFamily = To be filled by O.E.M.
    SystemVersion = To be filled by O.E.M.
    SystemSKU = To be filled by O.E.M.
    BaseBoardManufacturer = Gigabyte Technology Co., Ltd.

    OEM_SLP key is being used on a clearly retail motherboard.

    Apologies but I have no idea what this even means? When it comes to the Motherboard I'm a bit of a rookie.

    I'm sorry it means that your OS is counterfeit.
    You need to format and activate Windows using a legitimate product key.

    Oh really? I just used what came with the PC. So this is what could be causing the BSOD?

    Trying to debug an OS that has been compromised to begin with by using an activation crack is pointless.

    I used the disc which came with the bundle and did a repair install. The BSOD seems to have gone (for now).

    thanks for your assistance.
