    BSOD random restart

    I'm afraid I'm in need of a bit of help. I would greatly appreciate it.

    To save some time, I have recently installed an ASUS sound card so I can only assume that's the culprit. The BSOD started after installing the driver. When the driver install finished it was supposed to restart my computer but it didn't so I was left to restart it manually. So, I'm guessing it's either a bad install or a bad driver.

    This is the sound card:
    Xonar DGX - Sound Cards and Digital-to-Analog Converters - ASUS

    Using the SF diag too I have also attached the dump files. (unless I've done something wrong)

    I originally installed from the CD but also went to the link above to install the latest online drivers.

    Thank you.

    Yes, leland07.

    It is that ASUS Xonar DGX Audio Device (driver: Driver c:\windows\system32\drivers\cmudaxp.sys) that is causing the issue here.
    Code:
    *******************************************************************************
    *                                                                             *
    *                        Bugcheck Analysis                                    *
    *                                                                             *
    *******************************************************************************

    Use !analyze -v to get detailed debugging information.

    BugCheck D1, {fffff8802c62bff0, 2, 0, fffff880050cb570}

    *** WARNING: Unable to verify timestamp for cmudaxp.sys
    *** ERROR: Module load completed but symbols could not be loaded for cmudaxp.sys
    Probably caused by : cmudaxp.sys ( cmudaxp+28570 )

    Followup: MachineOwner
    ---------
    And the installed driver is the latest one available.
    Code:
    fffff880`050a3000 fffff880`053d1000   cmudaxp  T (no symbols)
        Loaded symbol image file: cmudaxp.sys
        Image path: \SystemRoot\system32\drivers\cmudaxp.sys
        Image name: cmudaxp.sys
        Timestamp:        Thu Apr 11 16:15:54 2013 (51669462)
        CheckSum:         002A485F
        ImageSize:        0032E000
        Translations:     0000.04b0 0000.04e4 0409.04b0 0409.04e4
    So in this situation we cannot associate the issue with the driver. Though you may uninstall the driver and try the earlier version; before ruling the card out.

    Xonar audio cards are always problematic as I hace seen in my debugging. The main reason behind their instability is, as far as I can found ... the device made by Asus, but the driver is made by C-Media.

    Thank you for the reply. After uninstalling the audio driver things worked again with no BSOD. I appreciate your help. Going with a new card!
