windows explorer crash *NEED HELP URGENTLY*

    windows explorer crash *NEED HELP URGENTLY*


    im using windows 7 professional 32-bit. everytime i try to browse my movie folder in my portable hard disk, the windows explorer stops working. it happens only when i open that folder. the problem signature is as below:

    Welcome!

    I suggest a disk check of the drive. Open an elevated command prompt and run chkdsk /r.

    How big is the folder? How much RAM is your system using?

    i have 3GB DDR2 RAM in my system..
    and the folder size is quite big..about 50+GB

    50GB?!?! Does it only happen on that computer? Does explorer close or freeze? Are you files divided into smaller folders?

    Have you run the chkdsk /r command as JK suggested??

    I wonder if that is the issue. Try dividing up the folder into 10 GB ones and see how it goes.

    portable hard disk ? its usb ? have you tryed updating the usb driver or matterfact the driver for the external drive i use one and it is not partitioned and neverr failed so i would look into some updates

    ya..i did divide the movies in folders..but the folders is in the main movie folder.
    err..i dont know whether it will face the same problem in in different pc. i never try. the windows explorer stopped working once i click on 1 of the folder inside.

    hmmm...is it the matters of size of folder?
    don't think so...its ok for all others large folder also..only that movie folder.
    and the windows explorer stopped working once in open 1 of the subfolder.
    and also happen when i try to change the folder view to tiles view. previously is in list view.
