I suggest you dont use the computer until you take care of your CPU... Good luck!
Not that Tom's reputation is demanding this, but I second his advice. Get those temps down ASAP!
well im using computer now, when prime95 isn't running temp of cores are at 55-60°C all the time. 65 max! only with prime95 does temperature get to 100°C cpu is cooking goddammit with that program... i looked down on one of my last posts and i said my cpu temperatures are all the time at that point. that's not correct, they are that high only with prime95 working... my question is: with prime95 stress test and good cooling system, healthy CPU should work fine? in that case while stressing cpu, temeratures should reach which degree? cca?
Even 60 is a bit high for comfort, with a desktop CPU.
We are just hoping the problems go away when your CPU cools down a bit.
Hi kulee. No insults; we have all been noobs and made mistakes. You would not believe some of the stupid things I have done.
Tom's and Jonathan's advice is spot on. I would not run my machine until I had gotten thermal paste and taken care of the CPU. Please keep us posted.
hi
i bought the paste and apply it. first, i cleaned cpu and cooler of old paste and then applied new one. now when i start computer i expected temperatures to fall down a bit, but they didn't. they are still at cca 60°C all the time. but i started that video card stress test and im worried... here is the screen shot

test is still working, average GPU temperature is 98°C, processors are at 88°C (first core) and 90°C (second core)... should i stop the test? btw i don't see any anomalies or artifacts on screen during the test
well i needed to stop after 24min of stress testing the GPU, cause of my CPU temps got to 99°C and i decided to shut down test! any new suggestions? is my power supply to weak?
Are you using any case fans, or just the PSU fan?
I advice upgrading your PSU, really. Not only do PSUs fail over time, but 400W to start out with is pretty low.
Check out this page: eXtreme Power Supply Calculator
See what it recommends. In the meantime, I'll contact some experts and see what PSU they recommend for you.
when i put all my spec's into that, it calculates that i need 230W (or something), not even near 400W. btw i reinstalled windows... AGAIN. but now into win7 ultimate 64bit. of course 2 bsods in 2 hours, so take a look. its obvious that processors are NOT overheating, cause temperatures before bsod were below 50°C (i think at 47°C)...
and btw im not using any special fans in my computer at all. all fans inside are stock fans, including psu fan (gpu and cpu too are stock fans)
