My few months old Intel i7 computer came with Windows 7 installed. It's working great most of the time, I removed several tiny annoyaces using this and other forums.
Last week I turned it on from hybernate, all I got was a black screen with blinking white cursor. I turned it completely off by pressing the power button 3 seconds, turned it back on and instantly got "Resuming Windows". A few minutes later Windows told me that it had installed updates and that I had to reboot. I clicked OK, Windows shut down as usual, after the Bios messages once again no boot activity, just that black screen...
And once again turning everything off and back on helped. But not as a permanent solution. After each complete shut down it reboots normally, but after each hybernate or restart it hangs with the black screen of death directly after the bios messages.
I performed some extra virus scans, like Trend Micro House call, found nothing. I guess it has something to do with the recent Windows updates.
