Blue Screen randomly on startup
Hi there,
A few weeks ago I upgraded most of the components in my PC myself, and since then I've been having a few problems I'm hoping someone can help me with.
Okay so the first problem upon startup is a message that pops up before Windows starts; "Scan Devices... No any device exists!"
This is fixed by disabling the IDE controller, however the IDE controller is frequently re-enabled without me doing so, probably due to subsequent problems...
The next problem is what I think is causing all the trouble; "ASUS Anti-Surge has protected your system from an unstable power supply", "Power Supply surges detected during previous power-on" etc.
Now, normally I can just hit F2 to "load default values and continue" however perhaps once a week I will get a random BSOD upon Windows booting up. The most common BCCode is 1a (Memory Management).
Strangely though, by simply unplugging and replugging the PSU connectors to the MB, the power supply surges and BSOD both go away upon next boot, but then on the boot after that the power supply surges message returns???
Could there be an issue with the PSU? Or the motherboard?
Any help would be greatly appreciated!! :)
Thanks for your time and consideration,
Trevor.
