Explorer keeps crashing

    Hi,

    This appears to be a disk error. So to start with - run a checkdisk.

    START -> type cmd.exe -> Right-click -> run as admin -> type chkdsk /r /f -> Press Y at prompt -> restart computer.

    Also, Kaspersky is a potential problem here so remove it ASAP.

    Kaspersky Removal -> KIS Removal -- jcgriff2.com

    Any order. Removing Kaspersky will take the shortest amount of time.

    Running check disk at the moment
    but what will I use for av if I get rid of kaspersky ???

    Idk it doesn't look to secure and kaspersky never gave me problems before.... Maybe I'll switch back to the 2010 version if anything

    just finished check disk and started it up - so far so good but i will keep using to make sure
    If it is fixed than THANK YOU VERY MUCH reventon and electrotune1200 for all your help
    from what I saw check disk fixed a bad sector containing a DLL called System~1.dll or something like that
