BSOD with Logitech Webcam Pro C905

Every time I try to use the Logitech Webcam Pro C905 (V-UBU48) I get a BSOD. I have tried reloading the drivers a number of times (using the latest Logitech or Windows versions). The Webcam has worked previously with Windows 7 and Skype
using an older AMD system.

Is Windows 7 Home Premium.
- x86 (32-bit)
- it is the original OS that I installed on the system
- the OS installed came from an OEM version purchased from a retailer
- the age of system (hardware) is approx 8 months
- the age of latest OS installation is 3 months due to a HDD failure

There are several causes for these crashes. Norton, our video driver in the begining, your IDSvix86.sys, USBPORT., and finally memory.


Given the multiple causes I have to think memory or Norton.


I would use Symantecs removal tool to remove it and install Microsoft Security Essentials in its place

You should test you memory
Download a copy of Memtest86 and burn the ISO to a CD using Iso Recorder or another ISO burning program. Boot from the CD, and leave it running for at least 5 or 6 passes.

I think it will fail. If it passes your video driver
When upgrading your graphic driver you MUST remove all traces of the current driver. In order to do that we recommend using Guru3D - Driver Sweeper

When it is removed then download and install the fresh copy.


Then just to be thorough I would run a system file check
Run a system file check to verify and repair your system files.
To do this type cmd in search, then right click to run as administrator, then
SFC /SCANNOW

Let us know the results from the report at the end.
