Hello guys...im having a problem when i perform a diskcheck on win7 system partition. When i perform a diskcheck,it stops at 4of5 26% and then BSOD appears saying "BAD SYSTEM CONFIG INFO" and a Technical information code
    STOP: 0x00000074 (0x00000002,0x8EB58BA8,0x00000002,0xC000003A)
I dont know what these codes mean.anyone out there encountered this problem?

For starters you can run the system file checker. Open an elevated command prompt (right click and select "Run as Administrator"), and type SFC /SCANNOW. This will try to fix any corrupt system files. If any are detected you will want to run it multiple times until none are found. You may also have a faulty hard drive. I recommend using HD Tune Pro trial (free for 30 days) or use the diagnostics software provided by your hard drive manufacturer. This will tell you if it is faulty.

    Hi -

Bugcheck 0x74 = an error exists within the NT Registry, specifically the SYSTEM hive is corrupted.

Try booting into SAFEMODE and select "Last known Good Configuration" - tap the F8 key repeatedly during boot-up.

However, given the issue you mentioned with chkdsk, there may be a problem with your HDD. I would suggest that you run HDD Diagnostics.

Start with SeaTools (for DOS) --> SeaTools | Seagate

Burn ISO to CD with ImgBurn --> The Official ImgBurn Website

    Boot with SeaTools CD.

If SeaTools comes up OK, run HDD manufacturer's diagnostics --> Hard Drive Diagnostics Tools and Utilities (Storage) - TACKtech Corp.

    Regards. . .

Follow the procedure you were given by Griff.
