BSOD ksaud.sys

I'm getting tired of those BSOD's that torment me.. ALL related to ksaud.sys which leads to Creative soundcard bad software... I'm not willing to ditch the card, it has great sound quality!

I get a bsod atleast 4-5x a week and they ONLY appear when some program emits sound effects, i.e. - download complete beep.

PC specs in my profile.
Attached latest minidump.

Have you tried one of the alternative (non-Creative) drivers for the card for Windows 7? Frankly, Creative's Windows 7 drivers are well-known crap across their whole line of products (hence why alternatives, like the one linked above from daniel_k, exist).

If they would only support X-Fi 5.1 Surround which is an external usb model.

Yeah, Creative + Windows 7 usually means frustration for the end user. Just avoid their products in the future and you'll save yourself the built-in frustration that is Creative's poor driver quality and support.

The only reason I keep using this card is its volume wheel and a remote. Any recommendations on other sound cards with a volume wheel, a remote and good Windows 7 drivers that isnt creative?

No, I'm not really an audiophile so I'm probably the worst person to ask (onboard audio works for me). The guys over in Sound and Audio might be able to handle that question though .
