Windows 7: Feedback Please

Please look at attached reports and help me figure out what is causing my issues.

x64 - Home Premium
- the original installed OS on the system? Windows 7
- an OEM or full retail version? Retail - System builder
- What is the age of system (hardware)? - 4 weeks
- What is the age of OS installation? 4 weeks

My profile should have the rest of my system information. I have tried debugging myself, but couldn't make heads or tails of the problem.

I am also getting an application hand when playing World of Warcraft. I am not sure if the report will show those events from the event viewer log, but if so any help with that would be great also.

I have checked at least 75% of your many dmp. They all show the same code 1A caused by ntkrnlmp. This is a driver that controls other drivers. We do not replace ntrnlmp as this is a Microsoft driver and rarely the true cause of the problem

Download memtest86 and test RAM

Update outdated listed drivers. If I have inadvertently listed any Microsoft Drivers, they can be ignored.

How to Find Drivers
search Google for the name of the driver
- compare the Google results with what's installed on your system to figure out which device/program it belongs to
- visit the web site of the manufacturer of the hardware/program to get the latest drivers (DON'T use Windows Update or the Update driver function of Device Manager).
- if there are difficulties in locating them, post back with questions and someone - will help you search Google for the name of the driver

To remove any left over driver remnants, especially from graphics cards, use driver sweeper http://www.guru3d.com/category/driversweeper/


After performing all of the above, post back with any new BSOD reports, or indicate that the attempted repairs were successful.

I complied with all the steps you prescribed except for updating the amdxata.sys driver as I was unable to find that driver. Is it part of a driver package from AMD?

I have also attached the log from my sfc /scannow. Best I can tell the only problem is with the speech recognition. Should that be causing my problem?

SFC does not show all the potential problems that can be the cause of BSOD. Use the computer, if you experience a BSOD, again, post.

I have updated my post to give you the driver download page for the driver.

Well, the date on the amdxata.sys file is now 7/13/2009. I can't find any reference for any newer than that on google.

BTW, the bsod is a pretty rare occurence but I was just trying to make sure it was not a hardware part that I needed to exchange.

I have been having a particular problem with getting an application hang with one of my games. Once it stops responding Windows checks for problems and lists the event in the event viewer. Is there a forum that I could check out that will help me read and understand the issues in the event viewer and possibly find a solution?

What might work even better is when you have a problem with the appl, bring up taksk mananger right click and get a dump report.
