I would maybe see if I could contact Lenova about that. The link Cpt. provided is directly from Lenovo's main site, and it clearly says a maximum of 4GB. Your link appears to be from IBM's site, but they no longer maker the Thinkpad series. That was bought by Lenovo a few years ago. I would definitely make a phone call or send an email to confirm which is correct.

I too think it's best to give them a call

OEM computers, especially laptops, can be very difficult to upgrade RAM.
This is mainly due to the fact that you can't adjust RAM timings or voltages, they are locked in BIOS.

Look on the Lenovo site for your exact laptop, find the exact RAM upgrade they list. Be sure to get the RAM part number, you can usually find the same RAM at a better price at the usual places.
Be sure to enter the correct Type and Model.

RAM suppliers that list compatibility with your exact laptop will usually work, worst case you will have to RMA.

This will be your best bet to find compatible RAM for your laptop.

    EDIT:
After a quick check, they don't seem to give any brand specs.
Your best option will be to get compatibility from the RAM manufacturers site.
Corsair and Crucial usually have good information for OEMs, someone may suggest other brand as well.

Use Lenovo or one of the RAM websites to find the RAM part number that is compatible with your laptop, then search that part number for better pricing.

Hope this RAM works for you.

I got the new Ram today from amazon. I Installed it and now running memtest on it for next 24 Hrs. Will let you know the results.
I also called the Lenovo rep for the max ram for T510. They told it's 8 gb max.
On website they have specified max ram up to 4gb (that's for 32 bit Os). but if Os is 64 bit it supports 8 gb Ram.

It might be that the T510 was only shipped with the 32-bit OS, which would explain what Cpt. found.
