Windows 7: okay..? entire PC froze

ok so basically my PC just froze with no notification of anything not responding, this also happened last week like everything just stops except the mouse then once i click the mouse pointer just stops moving, the only way i can continue what i was doing is to hold the power button down to shut the entire PC down and then turn it back up.

Sounds like a memory problem. Right click on the taskbar and bring up the task manager. If you cannot understand it, give us a screen shot of performance and process.

You did not show process from all users, but everything that I saw looks ok. Lets see if its a program that is installed. Do a boot in safe mode and tell me what happens.

Check for virus and malware.

Is Roxio set to automatically launch at startup? Try setting it to manual startup, and see if you still get the 'freeze-ups'.

What about going into configsys and uncheck everything but his AV and see what happens?

ran AVG 9.0 ....clean
Malwarebytes ....clean
Spybot S&D .....found some infected cookies (refer to first txt file)
SUPERantispyware .....found some infected cookies (2nd txt file)
